Can you have multiple save files in botw.
There's only two ways to have multiple save files. You can start a new save file in master mode while keeping your current file in regular mode. If you're playing on the switch you can create another user and start a new game on that. Unfortunately it isn't like other Zelda's where you can have the traditional 3 save file slots.

Yes. yes, but there are a maximum number of auto +quick saves across all playthroughs - not unique per. So make sure you manually save often. Yes just label your save files and make sure not to overwrite them. Yeah it groups all your save files by the character. Just wondering. I feel like finishing the game soon enough to see the whole story and it's ending but this game has such a high replay value for me so far and I honestly want to create another save file for it without autosaves or overwriting the same save file I completed the game with, if that's possible with BotW.

You just need to create a different User for the other *file. - this is how I get away with having 5 botw games open. These are all separate users and files and they do not work like Animal Crossing. You see, you can kind of only have one save file going at a time, which is different than before, where Nintendo had three save slots available right from the start. However, there is a way to have multiple save files in the game, letting you restart your adventure, or have a save where you just kind of mess around.
Botw isn’t the typical Zelda where you have 3 save files and it’s quite frustrating. Recently my mom started playing botw and it inspired me to also play again. The problem is that my wii u automatically deletes a new user profile so i can only stick to the one I already have.
