Just wants a manual start for you to see important messages. It will also not work if the hood is up. Check to see if the hood sensor plunger or whatever is not cracked or bent.

It says in my '08 manual that the horn will honk twice (if programmed) on remote starting. I guess if you have the horn set to honk on lock or unlock with the remote it will honk when you use the remote start. I don't have the horn set to honk w/locking and it doesn't do it when I remote start it.
