A couple of months ago, I posted an inquiry about my son's 1979 Chevy dualie truck, with a 454. He has since sold that truck (too costly on gas) and bought a 1973 International 1210 Truck, with a 266 V-8 Engine. Questions: 1. Neither he or I are familiar with this motor. We have taken over their trucks and their station, and the 1980 pumper/tanker has a blown engine. The #1 piston is laying in the oil pan in 1/4 inch chunks and the rod is bent.They had a lot more power than the 345/392's we had in several Loadstar/Carpenter and Loadstar/Thomas buses and didn't use appreciably more fuel. In fact, in one 1979 S-series IHC/Carpernter with the MV404/5-speed we always got 6-7 MPG on the highway. Ironically, I had a TD8-E dozer about that time and it used the same filter. I went to Baldwin's site and it says a pickup would use a B2 which is like a PH8A Fram, but the larger trucks used the B167.16,200 LBS.
