About 10 years ago, met an RV’er pulling a 40 ft 5th wheel with Volvo tractor sleeper cab. He had one of the rear axles removed, a 5th wheel hitch installed and used the tractor as his tow vehicle. He knew the truck well since he was a driver for the company that owned it. At 750,000 miles or so, it was auctioned off as surplus.
