They have the exact description of the bilstein 5100's. 46mm digressive valve with 18mm shaft in a stainless body. Everyone who i have talked to who has ACTUALLY tried the M1 rough countries have stated that they ride exactly the same as the bilsteins and last just as long. I got 4 Rancho 9000 for around $52 or so a shock year before last and they are great. I wouldn't even consider Rough Country at any price. Like.

Mar 28, 2020 · The ride feels like butter compared to stock coils. Still more stable assuming that’s the bilstein strut itself but the coils feel more plush. Not bouncy or soft. They just aren’t as hard hitting. Have no comparison for rough country though. I’m at 3” lift. 2.5” from eibach coils and running a 1/2” top spacer. Hunter62. The RC struts raise the front 2 inches, they are not adjustable, so you will need to see if 2 inches will be to much front end lift to not go over level, since you want a level. Then Like some one earlier said, they installed the Eibach 2.0 struts then added extra leafs in the back to get it level.

Unless comparing them with another set of similar shocks back to back on the same Jeep, on the same road - it's difficult to give feedback. I have a 3.5" lift with mud terrains so there are other factors as well.I would replace the springs and shocks as a pair. A set of Mopar 2" springs can be had for under $200. That would be about the same amount of lift. That and a set of Rancho 5000 series shocks would likely ride much better. If you want, you can upgrade to the 9000 series Rancho shocks and get adjust-ability.Shocks that I tried: RE Bilstein 5100, RS5000X (highly regarded in here), Fox, and the RS9000XL. The RS9000XL came the closest to not feeling like a meat wagon. The RE Bilstein 5100 and Fox shocks had much less uptravel than the Rancho shocks.
