535 posts · Joined 2000. #6 · Jul 13, 2011. my favorite way to set float levels on a holley with cener hung floats is to remove the bowl from the carb, turn it upside down,and use a 7/16" drill bit as a guage to set a 7/16" gap between the top of the bowl and the float. of course the top of the bowl is on the bottom when turned upside down!The instructions from the carb kit say; Float level adjustment; Hold the top plate upside down, measure from the air horn to the bottom of the float 1- 11/32". I set it to that. It has almost no travel. Float drop adjustment; Hold the top plate right side up measure 1-7/16" from the air horn to the bottom of the float.

Just use a big screwdriver and a wrench on the nut. Hold the wrench on the nut, and losen the screw. Take off the side plug on the bowl. Turn the nut until the fuel level just barely starts to trickle out of the side hole. Tighten the screw on top of the nut. Put the side plug back in. Thats it!
