Cursed Weapon is better with a low Magic stat, as it gives like 50% more attack (almost like a Clever Rat Ring buff without being below 30% HP).
Crescent Falchion isn't the best weapon ever but it's a solid choice. I'm still using it in NG+. Phosphorecent Pole. C str, D dex and D magic. Can be found by killing black phantom in pbwt in latria. I've found the hp drain to be pretty negligible (I tend to wear a regen ring), but if you don't want to get your int to 18, or wear that ring that gives you an extra slot, light weapon would be "better."
