Save. We took AAS through SXM in February. The way there (to Anguilla) is seamless and easy. We got off of our Delta flight and were on the AAS plane within 15 minutes at the most. The agents took care of our luggage and just ushered us right to the flight. The way home was way, way worse.

There are three of the large beach clubs open, many restaurants and Lolos in Grand Case, ad 6 or 7 in Orient Village. We stayed in a lovely VRBO in the village.

Per Delta's website they start flying to SXM July 2nd. We don't know how it will be in SXM, or if we want to spend $$$$ if it's going to be stressful. That doesn't sound like a good vacation. SXM did release their 5 phase to reopen plan. Basically most everything opens June 1st, on June 15th Everything is open. Hi, possibly look at Funtime. Their website says they leave SXM 4:30pm for the 25 minute boat ride to Anguilla. The normal driving route to Grand Case goes right though Marigot. So it's likely no one meant you any trauma, but I agree once other people and other stops are added to your trip the risk of something going wrong multiplies.
