You may have to repeat the process twice, if youy get things working turn off your radio/Nav and your HVAC, then disconnect the battery again and reconnect and everything should work, these newer cars/trucks do not like the battery disconnected with the radio or HVAC system on. Short of replacing the cluster I don't see how else other than a Tech II you will get the mileage out of the vehicle. Most modern vehicles store the mileage in the BCM, so try looking for a used cluster on eBay.
