255 posts · Joined 2005. #1 · Dec 30, 2007. My dad has a Bluebird bus (Frieghtliner chassis) with a 2000 CAT 3126 engine. Since the weather turned cold here in CA (33 degrees F overnight) the engine has been more difficult to start. It is taking 6 or so 30 second cranks to get it started.

I like to put an inductive ammeter onto the wire from the relay to the intake heater to confirm low power draw before removing the heater grid.
