I have a 2008 Vulcan 500 ltd. As far as preformance wise everything is still stock. It has roughly 1400 miles on it and has been service and well maintained. Not a problem at all, until today. Check for oil around the spark plug cavity and then explore this further. On the 1500, the service manul says a special tool is need to pull the spark plug tubes, but you can fashion a tool out of the rear axle nut and unscrew the tube. I'd bet the 800 is similar. Jun 11, 2012 · This indicates electrical continuity. Connect one end of you jumper wire to the grey wire that goes to the back of the bike at the control box. Connect the other end of the jumper wire to the black lead of the OHM meter. The battery is now on a maintainer so i will have to resume tomorrow. 1997 vn800A.A little rich is normal on these. They have to be by design. Plug fouling is just part of owning a Vulcan 800, and it's way worse if you make short trips or you're just starting the engine to let it run a little then turning it off. The plugs never get hot enough to burn off the carbon and they just foul. That is normal even on a bone stock VN800.

The connections for the turn signals/running lights are inside the headlight bucket, the rear turn signals connect to connectors that resides in the front of the tool box (under the seat). A quick check is to remove the cable from the hub and spin with your fingers while looking for movement on the speedo needle. If it moves, your problem is in the hub.
