The stake marks are evidence of an adjustable rear sight being installed, but that would have been later. Spotters Report Hemphill to SA sight. Reed Kimzey recently shared a picture of a milled rear sight that had a smaller than usual H in shield. Here we have a similar sight but with the SA mark for Springfield Armory. It is unknown if it has the usual crossed cannons on opposite side which is typical of SA rear sights.I have been looking for parkerized M1 15 rounds magazines for my collection. What I have seen so far is cleaned up magazines with traces of corrosion, then parkerized. In no way attractive. I have been told the parkerized magazines were intented for troops in South East Asia. They should resist the humid climate better when parkerized.Quality Hardware only made spring tubes.
