Absolute demons at night. Have the game ramp up to significant amounts by day 60 to 8x the population. What you have is a fight to survive. You've got the tools but they can easily overpower and destroy you. You might feel safe with 200+ shotgun shells, but when night comes, you might not be able to reload fast enough.

Anyways, no it’s not unreasonable to turn off transmission. I did the same thing when I started, and now I’m constantly running the game on harder settings and surviving months and months and months. Play the way you want, if it helps you get better or find more enjoyment in the game, that’s literally the point of the sandbox option.
