Same issue as you, Found the fix. I had to open yuzu in steam desktop, then open speaker on the desktop bottom right menu. click applications and Yuzu is muted by default. I unchecked mute and booted back into steam deck game OS. Audio works now.

So I can point a desktop shortcut and the non-steam app for game mode to ~/yuzu/yuzu.AppImage and just renew that shortcut when I download a new build. In case the mod actually is a cheat, the cheat file name has to match the first 16 characters of the game version's build id ( tinfoil.io helps)

Yuzu runs, loads up a game. I have configured controls in yuzu to handheld mode and steam gamepad. The controls do not work at all through so while the games load, I cannot play them this way. When I run yuzu in gaming mode, it gives me the message that I need to add my keys.
