Hodgdon data for CFE223 powder calls for a starting load of 25.0 and a maximum of 26.7, not a big range. I loaded 4 rounds each with 25.5, 25.8, 26.1, 26.4 and 26.7. I also brought along some of my plinking rounds, made with Hornady bulk 55gr bullets. I took them out day and shot them at 50 yards from a bench.

CFE223 is very hard to set off with magnum small rifle primer CCI450 in 260 with 120 gr Bal Tip. 40 gr is the most CFE223 that will go off. But despite the erratic ignition and velocity, it is a great powder for barrel break in, if you believe in barrel break in. Also 22.0 Benchmark and 77 SMK or 69 SMK come in a close 2nd. Will try loads with Blc(2) this weekend. Sorry I dont have anything shorter with enough twist for 77 SMK.
