Equiniti bought AST in Dec 2021 but the combining of operations of the two companies was in progress during the Dec 2022 spin-off of Next Bridge, causing lots of problems. Things are not yet running smoothly. AST has acknowledged various problems such as the non-US customers not being able to open accounts online.
