Spell recommendations: 1st- Mage Armor, Magic Missile, Shield. These are the only ones that scale halfway well into the late game. Your choice on the rest. 2nd- Scorching Ray, Burning Arc. 3rd- Fireball, Haste. Lightning Bolt is much more situational and does the same damage as Fireball.

The build concept is rooted in Pathfinder RPG boards generally and Brewer's Blockbuster Wizard specifically.
