BCM BFH ELW handles great and is more than accurate enough for a duty rifle. You may save a little buying the complete upper and lower separately. Yup I was thinking of doing that especially for the bfh upper. Silly question but does bcm still provide warranty if you only buy their complete uppers and lowers and pair them to a complete rifle

bcm has a reputation for over gassing their shorter barrels but their midlength 14.5 and 16in are typically gassed perfectly with port sizes similar to criterion who is always mentioned when talking about perfect gassing. Light strikes would typically be related to the lower not the upper, sounds like the light hammer spring is your issue there.
