As Cotaks stated, if you kill the parent or tame them you can then imprint on the baby and raise it just like if you bred it yourself. It's a fairly easy way to get a tame without using narcotics and tranq arrows and traps. Kill the parent and then imprint the baby. Besides, it does add a lot of atmoshphere.

I used a calculator I found a year or two ago, and don't have a link for it, but I made sure I can get a full imprint on all dinos, including larger ones, like Gigas. EggHatchSpeedMultiplier=45.000000. BabyCuddleIntervalMultiplier=0.024000. I think this is what I used to figure out the numbers.

So if you increase maturation timer to 50, then you have about 10 seconds to imprint for 100%. But you best be quick. And if you lower the maturation multiplier to like 10, then each imprint is only like 9-11% and there's no way to get 100%. If anyone knows good setting for 100% imprint and 1-2 cuddles before the dino matures, please let.me know.
