Bloodhound step is really good. So is Flame of the Redmayne. Or Bloodflame blade. Yeah, I'm using BHS on my dagger and it's awesome. "best" is overrated if you're playing PvE. Just try stuff out and see what feels good for you and your playstyle. Have fun, it's not a competition ;)

Nagakiba drops to a 242 AR at +25 do to a scaling bug, while Uchi ends up at 258. If you keep Naga at +24, it stays at 252, but has substantial length over the Uchi. Reply reply

I know this is late but I use nagakiba with vykes dragon bolt or whatever to coat armament in red lightning with the lightning scorpion charm and shard of alexander and carian filigreed crest and you can just spam sword dance and do insane amounts of damage for like no fp cost at all.
The nagakiba is essentially top of its class when it comes to AR for katanas, plus it's range is exceptional. Whereas the katana powerstance move set is rather slow, the weapons tend to hit one after the other except for crouching/roll attacks and jump attacks. Okay, according to the build calculator I used, which I think is accurate: keen Nagakiba with 18 str and 80 dex = 601. quality Nagakiba with 54 str and 60 dex = 622 (held 2-handed) Basically, stick with keen.
