Thanks for the comments everyone! I tried messing around with reshade, but it turned out to be one of the dalamud plugins at fault here, something in simple tweaks. I'll mess around with it more later to see if I can pinpoint exactly which one was causing the problem.

And then I made a gathering and perception set just case something like ishgargian restoration happens later down the line. Sounds like a lot but with simple tweaks I never had to worry about this.
