Subaru forester window reset.
We have a Subaru Forester 2017. The battery died and had to be replaced. There was no need to reset the radio station settings. I figured out the reset of date and time pretty quickly (like immediately). Two days later, I learned about the window problem. Found the fix pretty quickly in the window section, not the battery section of the manual.

I will initiate the auto-close and it gets to about an inch from closing, then auto-reverses about half to a quarter of the way down. 2) Remove the armrest tray assembly - it lifts straight up. In addition to the screw, there is one spring clip that will unsnap as you lift up. 3) Remove the plug from the switch, re-plug it, do this about 5 times. It will clean the crud off the contacts.

Apparently it just needs to be reset and the way you solve the problem is to run the window all the way up so it's closed, then you pull on the up switch again and hold it for 3 seconds. Its not a model specific issue it’s something that isn’t common but does happen. A dealer will replace the window mechanism if thats the case.
