When we turn the key over and try cranking it the engine light flashes rapidly and we hear a series of clicks. We have checked all fuses and relays and everything is fine. We tested the new starter and it works. I was told that the computer controlls the alternator output and will shut it off when not needed. It shut off the current to the armature which stops the load on the alternator and thus the guage show a lower reading.
