Apr 25, 2009. Messages. 4. I have a Brillion cultipacker and need to replace the bearings in it. To begin with, can anyone identify it by model? I've looked it over and can't find any data plate. In a previous post by mx1alex - he provided this PDF showing a Brillion bearing set up that is similar to mine - but there are significant differences.

I have a 10ft Dunham cultipacker that needs bearings. When I took it apart I was suprised to have octagon shaped WOODEN bearings in there ! ( maybe bushing would be more accurate) Any way does anyone know if these can be purchased or will I have to fab them myself ? The old cultipackers came with wood bearings, and that actually still works best on them, especially now that we have pressure-treated lumber. I think a 5 ft cultipacker is the optimum width for the average foodplotter, and it can be easily loaded on a trailer and pulled with an ATV or small tractor.

I looked it up, and found that the bearing was hard maple, "boiled in mutton tallow".
