Been searching everywhere online for how much damage volatile rounds do per explosion, and/or how that scales with weapon damage. My experience has been that fast firing weapons or burst weapons proc the volatile explosions more rapidly and seem to have more of an effect, but it's honestly really hard to tell with damage numbers spamming the screen.

Some argue for the functionality while others point out the distinctions. The Volatile Rounds from Collective Obligation should count for Anti-Barrier effects afaik, volatile isn’t going to do a lot in pvp bc the threshold to trigger the volatile explosion is like 200 damage vs a player (aka more than most players health unless they have an overshield). I could be wrong, but yeah i’m pretty sure volatile rounds is just nuts in pve.
