My personal opinion is that the turning point in the Spencer/Olivia/Layla love triangle was when Spencer got shot. I think it changed the dynamic of his relationship towards Olivia. In season 3 it becomes more obvious of his feelings for Olivia, but there were subtle changes towards the end of the second season.
