I day trade with $1k. Have been in and out of positions all day today. You CAN day trade without $25k. What you can't do is day trade on margin without $25k without running the risk of the PDT rule. I have a cash account and trade half the cash each day. My cash settles basically every other day.

Make it so much easier just to take the loss and look for another trade.
