I got a sig virtus upper and found a complete mcx legacy rifle. I sold the legacy upper and I am now using the virtus upper on teh legacy lower. I didnt even think to see if the legacy lowers were compatible with virtus uppers.9" .300BO has always been available for the MCX Virtus. Other available factory options are: 6.75" .300 BO 11.5" 5.56 NATO 16" .300 BO 16" 5.56 NATO The MCX Rattler variant is available as 5.5" in either .300BO or 5.56 NATO.The price of short arms ugh. I already have a SBR in 5.56 and a Silencerco Omega suppressor in 30 cal, so this time around I had to have 300BLK. With the Virtus, it comes in 16", 9", 6.75" and 5.5" (Rattler) flavors. But I have had discussion with Sig CS in the past that indicated a standard mil-spec trigger would work as well. I have two MCX Virtus rifles, both with the Sig 2 stage trigger. You can't have a rifle with a barrel length of less than 16in, but you can have a pistol with a barrel as short as you want.The Virtus and SPEAR-LT uppers are significantly "wider" and protrude out over the sides of the lower receiver when using a standard AR. I have not run into any function issues using either upper on the AR lower, however, the forward assist housing screws are clearly visible when mounted on a standard AR lower.
