I do trust the service manager at this dealership and he definitely knows the lingo and they have mechanics there with big diesel trucks that are tuned and all that so I feel like they know what they're doing. He said it's not exactly a common problem that they see but they have done plenty of valve bodies on the 66RFE and 68RFE with good success.68RFE intermittent 1st and 4th with no DTC Codes. I am not hard on the truck and changed the fluid and filters at 100k. It doesnt make any attempt to move in drive, but also doesnt make any noises. OD is still used in 4th gear, but it only has to hold about 60% of the torque (versus 100% in 5th and 6th), so it sounds like it can still hold that OK.
